Airtel has appointed Varun Singla as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

In his prior role Singla was the Vice President and Chief Security Officer at California-based Micron Technology.

He has been a customer-focused CISO and business executive with over 17 years of experience helping companies achieve improved security and business outcomes. He has deep expertise in building sustainable and cost-effective security organizations that partner with business, IT and engineering teams to solve enterprise risks.

According to a LinkedIn post by airtel X Labs, Singla has been assigned with the vision to ensure the organization’s and customers’ digital safety and security.

Singla has extensive experience in managing key client partnerships and working with C-suite across industry sectors driving profitable business growth through product positioning, execution and P&L management.

Prior to Micron he was the Vice President and Chief Security Officer at Veritas Technologies LLC where he developed and implemented a multi-year strategy and roadmap aligned to business needs, ensuring highly stable and secure environments. He collaborated with all business function, and managed large business partners such as IBM, Deloitte, Symantec, British Telecom and HCL.
